List of Things You Would Need to Move
As the moving day draws near, you feel more nervous than ever. Whether you’re moving for the first time or for the fourth, alone or with a partner, moving is always a huge undertaking. It requires some serious planning ahead and it doesn’t happen overnight.
If you want to make your moving process as smooth as possible, before you do anything else you need to make a list of things you would need to move.
Without further ado, let’s take a look at what your moving list should contain:
#1 Cardboard boxes – lots of them
Moving boxes are the staple of your moving process, at least for the items that don’t include bulky pieces of furniture. To avoid spilling everything in the street, reinforce the bottom of your cardboard boxes with a staple. Not all cardboard boxes are sturdy enough.
Also, make sure you label all the boxes with the items it contains so that you know what to unpack when you move into your new home.
#2 Bubble wrap – lots of it
Bubble wrap is a must especially for fragile materials like glass and ceramics. If you have easily breakable expensive objects you need to put bubble wrap on the top of your moving list. It would be shame to scratch and chip these items during transport.
#3 Book with Buckleys Removals of Manchester
Don’t be caught out! Sometimes we removals companies are all booked up and you can’t really book us two days before your moving day. Just in case, you should do that weeks in advance to avoid complications especially if you’re moving in summer.
#4 Cancel services and change your address
Make sure you cancel all the delivery or subscription services you receive at your current address.
#5 Take measurements of your new home
Will that huge old sofa fit in your new home? To avoid transporting things you won’t use, make sure you check the measurements of each room in your new home about 2 months in advance.
#6 Separate valuable items
Valuables should be marked differently from other boxes and you should pay special attention to where you put these. If you don’t want to take any chances with important documents or jewellery, take them with you in a safe box.
#7 Plan for the additional expenses
Before you actually start packing, you need to be sure you have some money set aside just in case something goes wrong. What if your car breaks down or you run out of petrol? Aside from that, you should get some cash for payment, tip and perhaps some refreshments.
