Having a nice and inviting workspace isn’t just appealing for aesthetic reasons but it also makes you feel better. Needless to say, when you feel better at work you are more likely to be productive. Certainly more productive than if you hated that distracting wall color, ugly painting or that old lamp in the corner.

But don’t take my word for it. Research also suggests that pretty indoor offices offer a better working environment which leads to increased work productivity.

Now that you’re certain you want to make some changes, it’s time to act. But don’t worry if you’re on a shoestring budget! In this article we’ve prepared for you 3 smart and wallet-friendly tips for decorating your office:

#1 Use nature-inspired air-freshener

New office doesn’t just mean new looks, it also means new smells. Even though looks matter, don’t forget that indoor air also has an impact on the overall working atmosphere. What’s more, certain smells are proven to improve work efficiency. According to research carried out by the the Japan's biggest producer of fragrances (Takasago), 33% of typists made fewer mistakes when they could smell jasmine, while staggering  54% performed better with lemon in the air. Natural air fresheners aren’t that expensive, they don’t take up a lot space and you can find them in various shapes and scents.

#2 Brighten your space with low-maintenance office plants

Plants are great way to add a nice pop of color into your a boring workspace. You can put them on your desk, in the window or on the shelves. For instance, Neon pothos is a beautiful bright-green plant that will definitely add a splash of green into your office. The best thing is that It’s not expensive and it can tolerate a little neglect. It only needs watering about a once a week. But if you’re really forgetful, you can’t go wrong with cacti. #3 Free high-resolution digital photography made into art

There are many stock photo websites like Pixabay where you can find exquisite high-quality photos for free. Choose whichever category you like (abstract, animals, nature, etc)  download a few photos, and print them out to frame them and put them on the wall.
